Through a 10-year, $250,000 commitment from Brandywine Realty Trust, Gather aims to provide 5,000 free and low-cost meals annually to food-insecure college students in Philadelphia. According to research, 1 in 4 college students experiences food insecurity, a crisis that impacts academic performance, mental health, and long-term success.

Gather provides a low-barrier entry point for emerging chefs and restaurant professionals who face resource gaps and lack professional mentorship. Two vendors received $25,000 grants from the city, low-interest loans, and access to a comprehensive mentoring program led by experienced restaurateurs including Jeff Benjamin (CEO of Federal Donuts, founder of Vetri Cucina) and Chef Akhtar Nawab.

Gather’s location at Schuylkill Yards, a 14-acre, $3.5 billion mixed-use innovation district, provides unmatched accessibility. Positioned directly across from 30th Street Station (Philadelphia’s second-busiest transit hub), Gather serves Amtrak passengers, regional rail commuters, and SEPTA riders entering University City from Center City.
