How to use this template
The brackets are defaults from real dog bars. Adjust the age, dog limit, and drinking age to match your policies and local law.
Put these rules at the entrance, on your website, in your membership agreement, and inside your check-in flow so no one can say they did not know.
Your waiver should reference these rules by name. Together they show guests accepted the risks and agreed to the conduct standards.
Rules only work if staff enforce them consistently. Give your team clear authority to pause service or ask a dog to leave.

For everyone’s safety and fun, all guests and their dogs must follow these rules. Staff may ask any guest or dog to leave at any time.
Entry & vaccination
- All dogs must be registered and have a valid pass or membership to enter.
- Proof of current vaccinations required: Rabies, DHPP/DA2PP, and Bordetella (kennel cough).
- Dogs must be at least [4] months old and, if over [1] year, spayed or neutered (medical exceptions with vet documentation).
- Dogs must be healthy, parasite-free, and not in heat.
In the off-leash area
- Owners must stay inside the park and actively supervise their dog(s) at all times. Never leave a dog unattended.
- Maximum [2] dogs per handler. Handlers must be at least [18].
- Flat-buckle collars or harnesses only. No prong, pinch, or choke collars off-leash. Remove leashes inside the off-leash area.
- Leash your dog and exit immediately if staff request it or if your dog shows aggressive or bullying behavior.
- You are financially responsible for any injury or damage your dog causes.
- Clean up after your dog immediately, and fill any holes your dog digs.
Alcohol & food
- Alcohol is served to guests [21]+ only; valid ID required. Please drink responsibly.
- Supervising your dog is your responsibility regardless of alcohol consumption. Staff may stop service or ask you to leave.
- Do not give your dog alcohol, and keep human food and drinks out of reach of all dogs.
Children & guests
- Children under [12] are [not permitted / supervised at all times] in the off-leash area.
- Every guest and dog must be registered and covered by a signed waiver.
Incidents
- Report any bite, injury, or dog fight to staff immediately. All incidents are logged.
- The Venue reserves the right to refuse entry or revoke membership for rule violations.
Questions operators ask
What vaccinations should a dog park bar require?
The common baseline is Rabies, DHPP/DA2PP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza), and Bordetella for kennel cough. Many venues verify records at sign-up and require them to stay current. Confirm requirements with your vet and local ordinances.
How should staff handle an aggressive dog?
Ask the owner to leash and remove the dog immediately, log the incident, and note the dog for future visits. Clear, consistent enforcement protects other guests and reduces your liability. Reserve the right to revoke membership for repeat issues.
Can children come to a dog park bar?
It varies by venue and by your liquor license. Many off-leash bars set a minimum age for the play area (often 12) and require handlers to be adults. Decide based on your insurance, layout, and local alcohol rules, then state it clearly.
