Case Study: Brewery Adopts Tabski QR Code Ordering

Overview:

A Saint Louis, Missouri based brewery was struggling with lengthy lines and wanted a solution to provide guests with a more convenient ordering experience.

In December, the brewery implemented Tabski QR code ordering at their location in conjunction with their Square POS. In doing so, customers choosing to order digitally no longer have to wait in lines. Instead, they can scan a QR code, open a tab, and then receive a text message when their order is ready with simple instructions on where to pick up the order.

Prior to adopting Tabski, the brewery’s average spend per visit on Square was $29.66 and they collected an average tip of 14.7%. After adding Tabski, the average spend per customer ordering digitally was $38.46 and the average tip collected was 18.47%.

Results:

The adoption of Tabski QR code ordering led to an increase in both customer spending and tips collected. On average, customers spent $8.80 more when using the digital ordering system compared to when they used Square alone. This represents a 29.7% increase in average spend per visit. The brewery also saw an increase in the average tip collected, with customers leaving an average of 18.47% when using Tabski compared to an average of 14.7% when using Square alone. This represents a 25.7% increase in the average tip collected.

Conclusion:

The adoption of Tabski QR code ordering at the brewery led to significant increases in both customer spending and tips collected per customer. By providing customers with a convenient and efficient way to place and pay for their orders, the brewery will continue to drive additional revenue, reduce lengthy lines, and improve overall customer satisfaction. While adoption was relatively low in the first month, the brewery should anticipate more customers ordering digitally in the future, especially during peak times like the summer months in Saint Louis. According to Juniper Research, QR code ordering will account for 20% of all global restaurant and hospitality sales by the year 2025.
